Beach volleyball powerhouse Brazil continued to dominate the continental scene by taking both the women’s and the men’s titles of the 2025 South American Tour Finals this weekend in Iquique, Chile.

Beach Pro Tour regulars Carol Salgado/Rebecca Cavalcanti and Evandro Gonçalves/Arthur Lanci made it to the top of the podium in Chile, giving the continental crown to Brazil, which also had the women’s runners-up in Thamela Coradello and Victoria Lopes.

The all-Brazilian women’s gold medal match in Iquique had the country's representatives going against each other and after three sets, Carol, a Paris 2024 Olympian, and Rebecca, who represented the country at the Tokyo 2020 Games, triumphed 2-1 (21-13, 18-21, 15-8) to claim the title with an undefeated campaign of five victories.

The bronze medal match in Iquique also had a domestic battle, which ended with Paris 2024 Olympians Michelle Valiente and Giuliana Poletti overcoming fellow Paraguayans Fio Nunez and Denisse Alvarez in straight sets (21-12, 21-12) to take the last spot on the podium.

The men’s final had the Brazil-Argentina rivalry at its best and ended with Paris Olympians Evandro and Arthur Lanci topping the Capogrosso brothers Nicolas and Tomas 2-0 (21-19, 21-16) to complete their perfect campaign with five victories and no sets dropped.

Chilean three-time Olympians and cousins Marco and Esteban Grimalt took the host country to the podium after they downed compatriots Vicente Droguett and Fernando Quintero in the tie-breaker (25-27, 21-17, 15-12) in the bronze medal match.

The tournament in Iquique reunited 15 women’s and 12 men’s teams, which represented ten nations in South America. The event was the seventh and last in the 2025 season, which had six regular stops from January to May.

Because it was recognized as a Continental Championship, the South American Tour Finals awarded the participating teams the same amount of FIVB World ranking points as a Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Challenge event.
